Fun Times

She's already reading... what can we say- she's gifted!
Now that Lauren can roll she's all over the place. Her latest trick is get under her swing and act like she's working on it- maybe this is practice for working on cars like her daddy & grandpas?
Lauren had just gotten out of the bath when she spotted mom with a camera- she promptly lifte her head and smiled big! She sorta likes the camera!!

She's Got Attitude

This is what Lauren thought of our Christmas Card picture taking! We were tempted to use this one, but decided it wasn't really full of holiday cheer! The girls got personality- that's for sure! (you might want to click on the picture to really see what she's doing!)

Ahh... they both learned to drink out of a bottle

I look over on the couch and this is what I see! I'm so proud of both of them for holding their own bottles! We'll have to take a matching picture when she's 21... she'll still be drinking just pear juice and water of course!

Santa's little helper

Lauren is all set to go help Santa out this Christmas... thanks to her aunt Megan for the onsie and her cousins in Idaho for the hat and booties!

Oh My Snow!

What a fun week Lauren has had. She got to see snow for the first time, which was very exciting for all of us!
Lauren was just had this look of amazement on her face the whole time she was watching the snow- it is so fun to see things for the first time through her eyes.
She got to spend time with lots of family members including her great grandma and grandpa Maas.
And she got taken very good care of by her cousin Kaitlyn from Idaho. They got along great!

Party Pooper, Every Party needs one! Lauren hadn't taken a nap all day so she decided that the wedding was the perfect place. She slept for about 2 hours in our arms with the music blaring in the background- go figure!
Look at that belly! Lauren had fun with her uncle Ryan at the wedding!
Lauren and Mommy had fun dancing the night away at Stef & Greg's wedding. Lauren was the best baby in the whole world that night!

Cutest Chicken Ever

Here is our very own Chicken Little! We tried and tried to take her picture without the pacifier but she wasn't having any of that! Oh well, who says chicken's don't suck on pacifiers?! Happy Halloween everyone!

Lauren's new ride!

Month number 4 is going great for us. Lots of new things happening: So much in fact that we can't list all of it. We'll try and highligt a few items...
Rolling over to and from both sides (front and back, that is) has become old hat to Lauren. Last month we were wondering if she would ever do this again, but now it has become routine

We went to Jubilee Farms with Aimee and John to pick out her first pumpkin (and got the added bonus of seeing a trebucheted watermelon). The hay ride was great and we enjoyed the farm (not commercialized and overpriced like Remlinger's)- many fun times, and more to come! - Thanks Aimee & John!!

Grandpa Mike's new toy was fun to play in. I hope I get this right, but it is a 1929 Ford Model A Roadster. It's got lots of neat things like the trunk you see on the back, and a great color set - beige with black fenders. If onlyLauren's feet could reach the pedals. I'm sure Lauren can count on Grandpa mike for some car help in about 16 years or so...maybe the Ford truck will be done by then?

Got to ride in the new backpack (a strong challenger to the BabyBjorn). We've all trotted around the 'hood with the backpack, and I'll have to say, it is quite comfy for me and, well, Lauren doesn't complain so that makes it comfortable for everyone. It gives her a great view of everything around. At night Lauren loves to look up at the street lights - it's her own personal Pope-Mobile! We went up to Bellingham to visit Oma and Opa. Lauren got to walk around Lake Padden with Kelly and Zach in the backpack - what a beautiful place - We feel lucky to be in such a great part of the country with so many great friends!

Tried eating "solids" in the new high chair (not sure why rice cereal is considered a solid yet). What a messy experience, but oh so much fun! She's not quite a pro at it, but we'll all continue to practice. We've heard eating these so called solids before bed-time can help her sleep a bit better, but so far it's in the B.S. book.

First real immersion experience (just the bathtub, but it was fun)

[explicit picture - see snapfish]

Having a blast in the newest toy (Excersaucer - I want the job to come up for names of this stuff). I know I'm not the only person who has issues with this, so why are these toys so hideous? I don't mind the bright colors and exaggerated features; that's got to be good for cognitive development and all that - but can't they make this stuff somewhat attractive? It makes our home look like Big Bird stopped in and vomited in the corner.

Of course, to the title of this entry, we found a great bike trailer for Lauren at the neighborhood garage sale. She won't be able to go for a ride until we get her a helmet (think 8+ months), but we are excited no less. I can't wait to tow her around all of the great trails and bike-friendly roads around here.

THIS JUST IN!!..........Everyone was excited to hear Lauren will get to meet her Idaho cousins for Thanksgiving this year. We will all look forward to breaking bread with the Idaho crew next month!

lauren charlene

Hi everyone!

thanks for visiting lauren's very own web page. as parents, we feel a bit guilty not having provided this for our daughter much sooner, but oh well - better now than never.

lauren charlene kok was born May 31, 2006. here you can see updates on her whereabouts and wassups whenever we get a chance...really, somehow we don't have as much time as we used to. up until 3 months ago I thought washing my car was a necessity - now it has become a luxury.

stop by when you feel like you need a lauren fix, and we'll do our best to have something new for you.
