Night Night

Lauren wanted to read Ben his bedtime story tonight. So sweet.

Rescue Jeep

Found this little treasure on Craigslist. $6 for hours of animal rescuing fun! Lauren says, "Can we call it our 'Animal Rescue Observation Center'?" Ben prefers to call it a "choo choo". That pretty much sums up their personalities!

Surprise Hit!

So I put this on our Netflix cue to indulge my little school girl crush on Zac Efron. When it came in the mail Kevin just rolled his eyes and said what he always says, "I'm taking over our cue." Being the good guy that he is, he sat down with me to watch this fun new flick. Well guess what? We both laughed so hard and thouroughly enjoyed it. I laughed so hard Kevin was afraid I was going to wake the kids up. I'm telling you- this is a funny little movie with a cute message as well. Uncle Ned is a funny little character who I promise you will enjoy. Zac is pretty darn cute in it too:) If I was 13, there'd be a pin up of him in my locker!

We're such Rockers!

We had our long lost friends Shannon & Nelson over last night (hadn't seen her in over a year, him in 3 years!) but if felt like no time had passed! We had the best time hanging out and having some good laughs, and of course pretending we were rockstars, because real rockstars totally sit on couches with blankets when they jam.
The funny thing is, Nelson really is a rock star! He is in a band that has real gigs and even plays in other states. Apparently Rock Band is nothing like the real thing, no surprise there. But it is fun to pretend for those of us that have no musical talent!

Wyatt's 4th Birthday Party!

Yesterday we went to Olympia for Wyatt's 4th birthday! Ben certainly enjoyed his cupcake, one of his favorite foods of course!
Lauren was super excited to do her first pinata!
This pinata was different than that kinds I always had as a kid, it had strings that each kid pulled at the same time and one was the magic string that opened the pinata! Perfect for indoors so no one is wacking each other with bats, but still very exciting!
Of course the string that opened it was the very last one pulled!
Ben playing with his loot. Lauren & Ben were telling knock knock jokes on the way home (as you can imagine they were super funny!). Here Ben is saying, "Knock".

Potty!

Ben found the little potty yesterday and had to try it out. Never did go but he played on it for a good 15 minutes.
Of course Kevin had to give him a car magazine to read:)

Just Chillin'

Ben always lays on the floor like this and it cracks me up. I guess it's how he takes a little break. Too funny!

YMCA

The Y hosted a family fun day on Saturday. The kids had so much fun with the concert by the "Not Its".
Dancing Queens, Braelyn & Lauren

Ben was not into participating in any of it!

The "real" Mater was there from Cars. Lauren was hoping he would talk and she wondered if he liked her outfit (she picked it out by herself in case you wondered).
Lauren got to sit in a real Fire Truck- so exciting!
Ben didn't want to be in it and he didn't want Lauren in it either!
Being in an ambulance and seeing a real stretcher was a huge hit! Let's hope she never really has to be in one.

Jump!

Ben has been really into jumping lately and Lauren likes to catch him.
"Come on Ben, I'll catch ya, just jump"
And they fall on the floor together!
Ben decided to try and fly and got a running start then did a head dive over the back of the couch! I watched it happen in slow motion out of the corner of my eye! You can't really tell in this pic but there was quite a goose egg and even a cut with a little blood. He screamed for about 5 minutes, then started jumping again!

Yoga

We found kid yoga On Demand last week and it is so much fun!
Ben wasn't so into it, but Lauren loved it!
Final relaxation.
Namaste.
Too cute!

Tulips

Last week we headed up to see the Tulips. We had never been before and they far exceeded our expectations- they were breath taking! So many and so beautiful. We will be going every year from now on.
We had a little picnic in the back of the car before we went wandering the fields. Lauren & Ben thought it was so fun to picnic in the back of the car!

So serious, but so cute.
Amazing.
Kevin had fun playing with his camera, made us realize we need to actually get it out more often and use it!
Lauren jumped from row to row for a good hour. She was searching for animals to rescue in each row of course.

Lauren wanted to take pictures in front of the purple tulips for Nana since purple is her favorite color.

This lone red tulip looked cool among all the white tulips.
Still jumping!

Another attempt to take a picture for Nana. Ben didn't like this idea at all.
As we were leaving Ben decided the wagon wasn't so fun anymore and kept trying to escape. He wasn't quite brave enough to actually jump out though so it was pretty entertaining to watch.
What a great day!

Does anyone know where Ben is?

We just can't find him anywhere?
Oh wait, I think I see him.
There he is!
He thinks he is so funny "hiding" from us like this!

Feeling Girly

Lauren has been having more and more girly moments lately.
Today she came out dressed like this and said, "Look mom, I'm a girl now". She even put on a little ring that Kevin gave her.
Then she started posing, I was laughing so hard and loving it!
These are her new party shoes. She doesn't really have any dress shoes because she never really wears anything dressy. But the past month she has wanted to wear a few dresses so we decided it was time to get her some. She picked them out all by herself and was very proud of her choice. *She kept this outfit on for about an hour, twirled, danced, & just felt beautiful. Then went up to her room and came back in basketball shorts and a t-shirt. It was fun while it lasted.
