Bee

Lauren and I made a little bee costume today. Her party is going to have a Bee theme and we needed a pic for the invite. We aren't using any of these so it's okay to post them:)
For just using a $5 shirt from target and some electrical tape I thought she looked pretty cute!

Don't Ask

who knows what she was thinking or how she did it but somehow Lauren got herself inside Kevin's sweats.

All Fools Day Parade... and we are All Fools for doing it!

Our toddler group was walking in the annual All Fools Day Parade in Woodinville this year and it was supposed to be so fun. The kids made cute flower masks and we had seeds to hand out to celebrate "20 years of growing kids" since it's Woodinville Toddler Groups 20th anniversary. Great idea...bad weather! It was 40 degrees and raining but I insisted we go. My family didn't love me for this and about halfway through the parade when Ben was screaming, my feet were numb, Kevin couldn't feel his hands, and Lauren was wet and frozen I decided it was time to go. So we took a little detour and ditched the parade. A for effort though- right?

Kevin & Lauren hanging out with her friend Riley and her dad Brian.
Us with our friends Emmy, Brian, Riley & Blaine, who are in toddler group with us. We were the only 2 families from our class that showed up!
I think there is a reason they call this the All Fools Parade- only fools plan to be in and go to parades in March in Washington!

Lazy Saturday Morning

Lauren doing her "coping" while resting.
Ben just playing around her.
Lauren was quite content watching Handy Manny all morning and Ben was happy as a clam playing away. But mean old mom had to distrupt the relaxation for a ridiculous walk in the All Fools Parade... I think I should have listened to them!

Birthday Fun!

We got together with the McCoy's and had some cake to celebrate Morgan's upcoming b-day. Lauren and Haley were so excited!
These two were like long lost BFF's. They hadn't seen each other in almost 3 months but it was like no time had gone by. They were hilarious, they went camping and played house. The highlight was when Lauren decided to change Haley's diaper. We went up stairs to check on them and Lauren had her stripped down and was trying to put her underwear and clothes on her. Poor Haley is laying there naked and kind of bewildered. Gotta watch out for that Lauren!
I thought I had candles but I guess I didn't...
Clapping after their wonderful rendition of Happy Birthday! Haley also sang us a few extra songs that she put her own twist on.
Morgan pretending to blow out the invisible candles:)
I don't think these girls are going to let us go another 3 months without playing! They were too cute together, it was by far Lauren's best playdate ever- I hope this is the start of a new trend for her!

Wii

I wish I had caught this on video. Lauren likes to "play" the cow game on Wii. Kevin plays behind her but she thinks she is doing it.
She kept saying, "Mommy, look how fast I'm going, I'm doing so good".
Ben was pretty impressed by his big sis and pretty proud of himself for standing at his table!
The real reason Lauren is so good at Wii...daddy! He's not complaining though, he gets to play and she thinks she's playing so they both win!

New Jams

We were shopping the other day and Lauren found these jams and said that she wanted them. They just happened to be on sale for $6.99 each and they happened to only have her size and Ben's size- meant to be right? So we got them (though I didn't really share her love for them). Then she walked around the store asking for everything and I kept saying, "Oh no, that is not on sale" so then she started saying, "Mommy, is this on sale, can we get it?" I was laughing pretty hard because that was the rule when we were kids too... and I think we had to have a coupon as well:)
I tried to get a picture of them in their matching jams but it was nearly impossible.
Ben was stunned by my game of Peek-a-boo and Lauren was highly entertained!
This little guy is bound and determined to crawl and really won't sit still at all. It's cute but also a little frustrating. He is so eager to move but gets mad that he can't quite do it so for now he's lunging and rolling everywhere. He did do a few backward crawls tonight.
Here's a cute one of the cutie!

9 month stats!

Benny turned 9 months on Friday. He had his appointment today and was a happy camper the whole time. He loved the paper on the table and kept ripping it to pieces and trying to eat it. It was kind of funny. Anyway, here are his stats:
Length- 29 1/4 inches (85%)
Weight- 20 lbs 2 oz (45%)
Head- 17 3/4 inches (50%)
He's doing great, doing everything he's "supposed" to. He's not crawling or pulling up yet but he is trying so hard and gets really close. My dad says he did 4 crawls on Monday night but I didn't see it so it doesn't count. I have a feeling he'll be on the move really soon though!
He loves trying to pull himself up on the faucet in the bathtub. Tonight he got the water on a little bit and just stared at it in awe. Both of our kids are kind of obsessed with running water... does that mean anything?
He also loves this bath book so much and will go to all lengths to get it from Lauren. As you can imagine, she will go to all lengths to keep it from him. Looks like Ben won this time though!
Crazy to think in just 3 months he'll be a year!!!!!

Manger in Training

I just overheard Kevin ask Lauren to help him clean up the playroom. She said, "Daddy, I am not going to help you clean up, I am going to watch you!" She'll be a wonderful boss someday:)

You're Hired!

Thank goodness we happen to have 2 vacuums because these two ladies aren't into sharing these days. They had a ball vacuuming the upstairs for me- if only it really worked!
Hads was so happy while she worked away and Lauren was taking her work quite seriously. These two can drive a person mad when they are together but they sure are entertaining.

Benny

Benny has his first tooth, though it's hard to spot! If you look really close you can see it, it's still working it's way up.
He's working on learning to crawl. Still can't do it but he's trying awfully hard. A for effort Benny!
And he is loving playing in the playroom. He's becoming such a big boy. He's kind of at the perfect stage. He can roll and get himself where he needs to be but we don't really have to worry about him going too far and he is content to just sit and play for long periods of time. If only we could freeze time!

Lucky Little Leprechaun

When Lauren woke up on St. Patrick's Day there was a little surprise hanging on her door!
The sneaky leprechaun left her a bag of gold!
She of course had to open it first thing and try one of the pieces of gold!
Delicious! Can we have gold candy for breakfast everyday?

Little Mother

Lauren continues on with her motherly ways. She made Kevin and I delicious dinner of rice and grapes, then fed baby Elmo a bottle.
She is a very busy mom. We told her it was bed time and she said, "Well I still need to feed Honey."
I get such a kick out of her facial expressions when she feeds because she is so serious about it. Honey was a good sport and enjoyed her meal.

St. Patrick's Day Dash

We braved the crazy snow and rain this morning and ran the St. Patrick's Day Dash in Seattle. We've done this run many times but it has NEVER been this cold. It was 36 degrees and snowed for awhile then turned to a crazy down pour. We were SOAKED and the kids were super crazy grouchy. It was definitely a different kind of fun! I think we'll stick to summer races from now on!
Luckily John and Aimee live nearby and they had us over for a yummy breakfast afterwards so we could warm up and fill our tummies! It was just what we needed- thanks so much guys!
