Wedding Attire?

Lauren asked me to put this outfit on her this morning because she was going to a wedding. Such lovely wedding attire. Of course I was THRILLED that she was playing dress up but tried not to act too excited. What do ya know? 2 minutes later she came out in this outfit...
And said, "the wedding is over" and this is what she wore all day. She did look pretty cute though, she wore her vans and just looked like a cool sporty girl with an edge. Gotta love her funny little sense of style!

Ben's Baby Elmo

Ben discovered Elmo this morning and was trying so hard to wrap him up and play baby with him.
What a good daddy you are Ben!
He was following Lauren around and trying to do everything she did. She didn't find it as cute as I did.
I love watching him play with all the 'babies' we have. He gives them hugs and kisses and is so sweet to them.

Rock Band Rock Stars!

So Kevin & I are kind of late bloomers but we just discovered how fun Rock Band is! We played it last weekend at a friend's party, then this weekend at John & Aimee's and now we're looking for a good deal on it on Craigslist. The fun part is that the kids love it too so really it's for the family, not us:)
Lauren had to wear her "rock and roll" shirt over to their house to wear while she played.
Real Rock Stars.
Lauren wanted to sing with me. We're quite the duo!
And Ben is about as amazing on the drums as me! I have 2 blisters today from it!
Acting like a real Rock Star. Bottle in one hand, Mic in the other.
Wow Lauren- you are soooo good!
Thanks for teaching us the ropes John & Aimee and for putting up with our kids while we all tried to play!

Happy Birthday Dave!

We celebrated our good friend Dave's b-day with some Claim Jumper cake!
It was our first time having this cake and it was FABULOUS!

Lauren had to help blow out the candles of course.

Lauren had to snap a shot of us as well.

The Camo has Arrived!!!

The wait is over and the camo is here- Lauren was SO excited! We ordered Ben a pair too, figured they might as well be twins!
Being super cool in her camo and pink converse getting ready to show of her new duds at preschool.
I tried to get a picture of both of them... I failed miserably. Here are just 3 of the attempts.
Hopeless.
Lauren's had it, she's "coping". Wonder when she'll out grow that?

Gymnastics

Lauren had her first gymnastics class on Tuesday. It was a big deal because it was her first class she's been in that didn't require parent participation! It was fun to sit and watch but also hard not to jump in and give her little reminders:)
She was the last kid in line to go on the beam. She only tried to cut in front once...
Walking backwards with a little help from Miss Jordan.
Ben didn't really enjoy watching his big sis in gymnastics but he loved playing on the toys afterwards! Oma and Opa even came to watch the first class- Lauren is one lucky gal!

Photo Booth Fun

One last visit to the beach

We headed down to Kirkland this afternoon to enjoy one last day of sun! Lauren thought it was too cold but Ben decided it was perfect weather for swimming!
This kid got brave overnight. He just started walking in and kept on going.
Luckily I was there to catch him everytime:)
Lauren found two girls building a sand castle and invited herself to join in.
After a few nose dives in the water Ben was DRENCHED! But he just kept laughing and growling- he was having the best time.
His mood changed dramatically once we stripped him down and put him under the shower. He HATES showers so this was not fun at all for him. We kind of got a kick out of it though, as you can see by my face. Mean parents, I know. Love love love these sunny September days, I hope we have a few more!

Preschool!

Today was Lauren's preschool open house and it was so much fun! Doesn't she look like such a big girl?
All the kids have buckets instead of backpacks, which is the best idea ever! All their messy art projects go in there and they bring them home each day so the car doesn't get paint, glue, etc all over it! These teachers have it figured out!
Since it was open house parents got to stay. We were there for a half an hour then left her for an hour and she loved it. She was having fun teaching Kevin how to build a tower.
Her little friend Braelyn is in class with her. They had fun painting together.
Learning to walk in a line!
Kevin and I came back for the last hour and watched her play. It was so fun to see her in action with all the kids. Crazy that she is such a big girl now, but we are pretty proud of her:)

9.9.09

John & Aimee got married last night and it was the most intimate & personal wedding we've ever attended. Kevin did a fabulous job as Rev Kev, his words were very heart felt and thoughtful. John & Aimee put so much work into making the evening personal and unique and it all paid off, everyone had a great night!
I think this is picture 241 just like this:)
They had a photo booth with props that was soooo much fun! I will scan our many shots later tonight but here is a glimpse of Kev & Collin in their western wear!
John gave the sweetest toast that brought tears to many eyes.
What a wonderful night, we felt so lucky to be part of it! Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Palacios!

Little Parents

Lauren and Ben have really been into playing with babies lately. Ben cracks me up, he puts these little people in the stroller and pushes them all around! Check out his face in this one.
Lauren cuddling "Baby Wyatt" in the car. He's been coming everywhere with us lately and she breastfeeds him a lot- this kid should weigh 100 lbs by now! He's a challenging baby, he never stays in his bed, poops up his back daily, and he gets cranky a lot. But she knows all the techniques to calm him, we even get special directions on how to hold him when we babysit. It is quite entertaining.
Lauren and Ben read a book to Baby Wyatt today. He's advanced, he already enjoys chapter books, no pictures needed for this little baby!
