The kids' weekend

While Kevin and I were having fun in Seattle the kids were having a blast in Bellingham! Oma and Opa took them to the Lynden Raspberry Festival and they went rock climbing. Ben was a tad bit more nervous than Lauren.
Crazy girl went to the top!
They also went to the Bellingham Farmer's Market and had some fun.
Ben got a balloon kitty...which I hear later popped though he assured me he did not cry.
Miss Lauren got her face painted.
They also saw Turbo, went to a park, down to the waterfront, and on lots of scooter rides. They had the best time, thank you Oma and Opa so much for giving the kids a super fun weekend! They are so lucky, and so are we!!

Early Anniversary Weekend

Last weekend we celebrated our 10 year anniversary a few days early. The kids spent the weekend in Bellingham and we decided to be tourists in our own city!
We raced at Traxx- it was so much harder to drive those race cars than I expected! But it was fun.
We rode our bikes to Redhook for dinner, riding back after a drink or two isn't quite as easy as I thought. After our bike ride we went to the movies at 10:00 PM and we didn't get home until 12:30. We are talking wild here people!!
Saturday we went to the Bite of Seattle and it was so fun. They had a bunch of food trucks offering gluten free food and some of my favorite food companies were there giving away freebies. My lucky day!
Chocolate covered strawberries- yum!
Walked around the sculpture park, it was such a pretty day to be out walking around!
We stayed at the W hotel which is where we stayed the night we got engaged. When Kevin made the reservation he told them it was our 10 year anniversary and that we stayed there on our engagement night. They surprised us with roses petals in the room and champagne. Such a fun surprise!
 Fancy.
We had dinner at Palisade, which is where we got engaged. Hadn't been back since so it was really fun to go there again.
 Dinner was amazing.
Had drinks at Trace, the bar in the hotel, after dinner.
Sunday morning we walked down to Pike Place and had crepes. It was so great that they had gluten free crepes!
We ended the day walking around Fremont and going to the street fair. We had lunch at Blue Moon Burgers which is our new favorite burger place. Everything is available gluten free, even onion rings! It has been 4 years since I've had an onion ring and let me tell you- it tasted amazing!

Such a fun weekend just hanging out and having fun together.
Loved the last 10 years, can't wait for the next 10!

Langa-Davani

Our neighbors came back from India with this beautiful dress for Lauren. It is called a Langa-Davani and Lauren feels pretty special to own this. No idea where she'll wear it, but still very cool to have and so incredibly thoughtful of our neighbors. I'm kind of amazed how well it fits her and I think she looks pretty cute in it!

pool party and popsicles

 lovin' the summer!

Love

love when they get along like this

Family Visit

We have lots of family visiting this summer, which we LOVE! Last weekend Emma & Elle were here. Lauren and Hadley liked getting to hold sweet Elle.
Ben & Grandpa Bob worked on building a wooden airplane.
We went to American Girl for lunch and Emma got to pick out her very first AG doll!!

The girls were so cute and had so much fun with their dolls.
Lauren got a hair extension for Olivia so she now has long hair! Although, Lauren has been wearing the extension more than Olivia:)

Package Tour

Last week I went to the 98 degrees, Boys 2 Men, and New Kids on the Block concert with some friends. It was SO MUCH FUN!!!

Such a great night with the ladies!

Crabbing

Crabbing season started last week so we joined Nana & Pa for a day on the boat to help catch some!
 Our first catch!
Ben took his job as helper very seriously.
 Lauren and Nana
 Throwing the girls back.
Captain Ben!
We only ended up with 3 legal ones on our trip out, luckily Nana & Pa had been crabbing for a few days and had caught more.

Ben was so serious about helping Pa kill and take apart the crabs. Someone asked him the other day if he liked to help when crabbing and he said, "Yah, I like to help pull the lungs out." Lovely...
 Nana & Lauren
 pulling the lungs out- gross!
The best part- eating fresh crab on the dock!

We're going back for more this weekend!
