The orca and her trainer

These two were cracking us up on Saturday.
Injured fluke, luckily trainer Lauren was able to save her.

The orca was too sick to eat on her own so she had to be bottle fed
I just crack up at them- they are hilarious.
And of course, doing what they do best- sucking their thumbs! These two are going to be doing this forever...

phone pics

We got to have Carsie all to ourselves the other night and it was so much fun! Is that face not to die for?! LOVE him!
 Go CWU!
Totally blurry but loved it anyway. These two are so much alike, crazy, can't stop moving, into everything. They have fun together.
The kids were eating those sorbets from Costco that come in the fruit. Carson decided the spoon was pointless and just dug in!
Little Miss Jodie, who is practically a celebrity at our house!
These two have been missing each other so much since they don't get to spend Fridays at Nana's anymore (because of school).
My two favorite boys at the park!
The kids are having fun getting out some of their old toys for Jodie. This tunnel is now a new favorite. Gotta love that!
On Saturday we met Oma & Opa at Red Robin in Smokey Point for lunch since we hadn't seen them in a few weeks. Hadley got to come too!

More from Cannon Beach

I found a few pics on my phone that I forgot to post. On the way to Cannon Beach we stayed a night in Portland. Ben thought the built in hair dryer was the coolest thing and had to keep blow drying his hair. Too funny.
Lauren loved the phones so we unplugged them and let her "talk" away. So funny what they find amusing in hotels.
 cheese!
 The VW Tillamook bus

Lauren had fun jumping off the sea wall. Ben wanted to do it so bad but he was just too nervous.
On a shell and sea creature hunt.
We found a bunch of jelly fish on the beach and one dead bird, which is of course all they've been talking about.
We watched a professional crew build this on Saturday for a company that had a party there on the beach. It was pretty cool to see.
One last jump before we left!

Team picture day

Ben is loving his new soccer team so much, it is hands down the best kids sport we've ever participated in. Scott is so impressive with the kids.

Ben totally focuses and tries so hard the entire hour, he was so sweaty at the end today.
The team!
Another great thing- Scott hands out the jerseys on picture day so it's guaranteed that everyone will be in uniform for pictures AND he doesn't have a professional photographer, he just tells everyone to bring their cameras and gives us a few minutes to shoot. Of course I forgot my "fancy" camera (that is like 3+ years old now so hardly fancy anymore) so this is the best I got. I tell you, this guy has got it figured out!

Cannon Beach Trip

We visited the Tillamook factory for the first time.
They even had gf bread and were able to make gf grilled cheese for us- yay!

Watching them cut and package the cheese.
Cuddling with his dolphin as he patiently awaits our arrival.
 We are finally here! Yahoo!!
We had the best weather, mid 60's and sun the whole time, it was heavenly.
I came down with a cold on day 1 of the trip but it was nice to have time to just relax and nap with the beach in the background.

 View from our room
 Another view from our room
Lauren LOVED that the bathroom had a tv in it. She took long baths and just hung out in the the bathroom just so she could watch tv in there.
Naturally they loved this whale and were so mad they couldn't ride on it.

Kind of weird that we are wearing our Seabrook shirts in Cannon Beach...oops.

 So pretty!
Loved the candy shop, had to go there a few times.

This girl just cracks us up. Totally  normal lunch for a 6 year old, right? She chose this- they even had gluten free bread so she could've had a sandwich but oh no, she wanted a salad. And her only complaint? That they put cranberries on it because she doesn't like cranberries on her salad.
We spent a lot of time at the pool!
Ben is braving it without floaties, though he can't swim away from the steps without them;)

Lauren loved how you could open up the bathroom so you could see the ocean while you took a bath. There were A LOT of baths taken!
Being cozy after a few hours of swimming.
The second night the kids and I went out to dinner while Kevin was in a meeting. Lauren wanted to order clams and caesar salad (and she made if very clear to the server that she didn't want cranberries on her salad). Now clams are all she wants. Between her constant requests for lobster and now clams, we are going to go broke! This girl has the taste buds of a 40 year old. Next thing I know she's going to want to order a Chardonnay to go with it all.
Ben got p.b. & j. At least we have one kid with normal food habits.
They had an amazing gluten free chocolate soufflĂ© with peppermint ice cream on top- it was heavenly.
 Bonfire on the beach!
 Roasting marshmallows!

 Love my Benny Boo!
The kids LOVED that we got to be with Kevin on his business trip. Now they are going to think this is what he always does when he goes away.
 Us
On the way home we stopped in Astoria at the Goonies house. It's so weird to me that someone just lives there and it's a normal old house in a normal old neighborhood.
It's pretty nice of the owners to let everyone walk up and see their house!
Kevin let the kids watch this movie about a month ago so they were so excited to see the house.

What a great way to say good-bye to summer! Thank you Cannon Beach!
