Langley
We spent the day in Langley yesterday with my parents and some of our good friends. It was the perfect send off to summer. A beautiful day in a beautiful place with fabulous company:)
The kids were very excited to go crabbing!
The boys had to be the ones to pull the traps up. So strong:)
They were pretty bummed when all they got were females so they had to throw them back.
The girls turn- they only got one and it was a soft shell! Just not our day for crabbing. Luckily some friends in the yacht club got a bunch and shared with us:)
The boys spent a lot of their day "fishing" off the dock with their nets. Nothing was biting though...shocking since they were using hot dogs, watermelon, and crab shells for bait!
It turned out to be a gorgeous day, the view was amazing!

We walked up to town and the kids were amazed by the glass blowing factory. It was pretty impressive to watch.
They were also very excited to take the little shuttle around town for a ride. Thanks Nana for riding along!
We went for a long kayak ride, it was fun and beautiful and we saw 2 seals that were swimming all around us. They played around the boat a ton when we got back too, it was so fun!
Since the fish weren't biting off the dock the boys decided to try from this boat...oddly enough, it didn't work.
Right before we left we went out for one last check of the crab traps and we got 1!!! The kids were beyond thrilled to have keeper.
So proud!

This crab had quite the face, kind of cute actually...almost felt bad keeping him.
We didn't get on the ferry until after 8 and we hadn't even had dinner yet. After the ferry we had dinner at Arnie's in Mukilteo, we were the only people going in at 9:00 with our kids to have dinner. Parents of the year award is going to us, for sure!
My moms friend gave the girls these tiaras and they were so excited to wear them once it got dark. I kept calling them "ferry" princesses:) Hee Hee

End of Summer Fun
We've been making the most of our last week of summer vacation! Lauren (and Ben) got to spend the day at the pool with Lizzie, which they LOVED...and I was quite jealous to be getting texts with these pictures while sitting in meetings:)
We also had to get pretty toes to start school:)
