Laurie's Shower

Kelly & I threw a shower for Laurie and Baby Mackenzie on Sunday.
The weather was so nice! Here is Laurie with Alison and Kelly, some friends from high school.
Kelly, Laurie, and Me!
Funny how we all picked shades of blue (mine is more green I guess) to wear.
Lauren got to be at the shower- she felt pretty cool!
Lauren helping Laurie open her gifts, what would she have done without all the kids to help her?
Baby Mackenzie is due to arrive around August 30th- we can't wait to meet her!

Pedicure anyone?

Lauren gave Kevin an impromptu pedicure the other night, it was so funny. She was really serious about it too!

Cute Boy

He is looking like such a little boy these days. He's latest love is wheat bread, he devours it!
Lauren was watching a show and Ben kept watching too. Oh no, we're gonna have two tv lovers!
Looking so grown up hanging out with Nana!
Cute little butt up in the air sleeper!

Mother's Day

Mother's day was fabulous! Mom and I went shopping and out to lunch then came home to a bbq made by Kevin. Didn't get too many pics of the bbq but did get a cute one of Miss Lauren jumping on her bed. Apparently on Mother's Day you don't have to follow rules.
Hadley just looking cute- as always!
Ryan splurged (at my request!) on Cold Stone cupcakes and in my opinion they were worth every penny, I think Lauren would agree!
Benny even got in on the action and had his fair share of cupcakes and ice cream. Kind of funny how #2 gets things a little earlier- with Lauren I didn't want her to have any dessert until her 1st b-day!
Ben was making the rounds with the ice cream- Hadley was enjoying lots of bites as well. They know Nana & Pa will give them all they want!
Thanks to everyone for a great Mother's Day! Funny there weren't any pics of Me & Meg, we were too busy taking the pics I guess!

Train Ride

Bella & Max gives free train ride passes when you get your hair cut. Lauren has always refused to go on it so I had enough saved up for us all to ride for free! As you can see she still didn't want to go on it but we didn't give her much of a choice this time!
After about 2 seconds she decided she liked it after all!
Ben and his serious look. This picture makes it look like his hair is shaved on the side- it's not!
Just thought this was cute.
Ben is actually asleep in this picture- the train ride wore him out!

1st haircut

On Saturday we headed to Bella & Max and Benny got his first hair cut! It went much smoother than his sister's first cut.
He never cried or really fussed even, but he did have this worried look on his face most of the time.
He lasted for a good 10 minutes, then the lady gave him a few toys to play with.
Yummy- a dinosaur that's been chewed by a million little kids, my favorite!
I didn't really get a good after pic! But you'll see pictures of him in posts to come:) He looks quite handsome if I do say so myself!

Bellingham- a few weeks ago

Found these pics on Kevin's camera and decided they were too cute not to post even though they were from a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful Sunday up in Bellingham and Lauren and Ben took full advantage of the weather and Oma and Opa's park like backyard. Lauren had to get some yoga in.
Rolling around in the grass- it's a novelty since we don't have any.
Ben loves playing with balls so he was in heaven with Opa's little putting green and all his golf balls.
I love how you can see him laughing here. He was having so much fun trying to get all the balls and he was even crawling over and trying to put them in the hole. He's gifted for sure:)
Lauren enjoying the hammock with Opa. This is my favorite part of going to their house in the summer- I love laying in it!
Cute profile shot
Don't ya just want to pinch those cheekies! I think the sun makes his hair look even more red, if that is even possible!

It's Done! Well Almost...

Kevin finished the deck tonight- minus the lights. It's finished as far as I'm concerned- yahoo!
Lauren was in heaven running all over it!
The steps, which will soon have lights under them.
The railing and the new plants.

Pretty good work I'd say, especially considering he is short the use of one finger right now! We're hoping the weather is nice this weekend so we can enjoy it!

So Odd!

Lauren loves mayonnaise and requests it with a lot of things. Apparently now we're just eating it alone.
digging deep to get the good stuff
Who could resist an armful of mayo?
This is all Kevin's fault- he puts it on everything, including his mac and cheese! SO GROSS!

Poor Kevin!

As most of you know Kevin has been working so hard on building us a deck. It's almost done and looking fabulous but we had a little glitch on Monday afternoon. Kevin was putting up one of the last railings and the drill got caught on his glove. This is what it did to his glove!
And this is what it did to his finger. His pinkie is broken and the tendon is torn off. He has to wear this little brace thing and have surgery on Monday. After the surgery there will be a pin sticking out of his finger for 4 weeks- ouch! Who knew that a pinkie could be so complicated?
Luckily he doesn't seem to be in too much pain, or at least he's hiding it well. Poor guy!

Teeth

Ben is the slowest teether ever! He has 2 on bottom and 2 on top but they have been coming in since Feb and still aren't all the way up. Lots of drool around here.

My Favorite Thing

Lauren and Ben are starting to play together and it is my favorite thing to watch. I could just stand back and watch them for hours... too bad it only lasts a few minutes right now:)
It's mostly parallel play at this point, but still, they are playing!
He's starting to use his tool bench and it is so cute!
This pic made me laugh because of Ben's droopy shorts! We did go to the skate park this morning, I think he wants to be like the skater boys!
This is baby Emma. I asked Lauren how old she was and she said, "6000". She ages well:) I love watching Lauren play mommy. They are for sure her sweetest moments and it is so fun to watch her calm her baby and take care of her. Makes me feel like we must be doing something right around here!

Why?

I bought Ben this shirt but guess who is obsessed with it? It drives me NUTS that a) she wants to wear her brothers clothes and b) that she likes to dress like a boy! At least she wanted pink shoes when we went shopping the other day- I bought them immediately!
