A Trip to the Zoo!

Kevin took the day off and we took Lauren to the zoo. It was her 3rd time going but really her first time enjoying all the animals. Elephants were by far her favorite but monkeys were a close second! Here she is watching the bears sleeping and she was saying, "Shh, Bears nigh night".
For some reason this hippo statue scared her, the kid who isn't scared of anything is scared of a statue- go figure!
I'm not one of those people who usually takes animal shots but I couldn't resist this peacock, it was quite a sight!
Uhh... out of order again! This was about 2 minutes after getting in the car- the zoo tired her out!
Looking at the bunnies.
Climbing the fence to the goats... I guess she wanted to be like them:)
Lauren kept wanting to have her hands in her pockets. We'd say, can you hold our hands please and she'd say, "No, hands in pockets".
We forgot our stroller so we rented this wagon. It was a hit! She loved riding in it and it was fun because we could easily get her out. She also loved her monkey cup she got filled with apple juice. For some reason one of the things I remember the most about going to the zoo when I was little was getting these cups so I had to get one for her!

Pushing Hadley

Lauren was excited to push Hadley on the swing. This is a first, she usually doesn't want Hadley on the swing or the slide... we're making progress:)

First Haircut- Finally!

We finally decided it was time to get Lauren's haircut- it was looking just a tad bit shabby! We took her to a fun place called Bella & Max with cool seats in hopes that she wouldn't throw a fit.
She still got mad, but it wasn't as bad as we expected:)
The finished product.
Still not loving that she was there but we had to get a shot of her in the cool jet. Miss Lauren is now sporting a cute little bob that looks darling on her- she won't sit still long enough for me to get a good shot of it though.

I want Baf

Lauren is the queen of baths these days and she always says, "I want Baf" and then when she gets out she says, "I want wrap" (which means she wants to be wrapped in a towel).

Too cute not to take pictures of:)

29 weeks

Here is the latest belly shot of baby Ben. The kid is a mover and shaker- having day long dance parties in my belly- I'm thinking he might be a lot like his sister...oh boy! Life is bound to be exciting around here in a few months:)

Easter with Nana & Pa

Easter night we went over to Nana & Pa's for dinner. On the way there I asked Lauren what she was going to say to Nana and Pa when we got there (I was expecting her to say, "I miss you" her latest favorite phrase). Instead she said, "I want present!". Wow- she's a quick learner:) Luckily Nana and Pa did have an Easter basket waiting for her!
I think she actually had more fun with Ben's Easter basket- lucky kid, already getting an Easter basket before he's born.
Going through her loot at Nana & Pa's.

If anyone is counting this is Lauren's 4th outfit of the day:) The kid likes to change clothes!

Easter with Oma and Opa!

Lauren had a very fun Easter morning up in Bellingham. She loved this bunny long enough to take the picture and then she was done with it.
Play-doh was a much bigger hit!
(Out of order- oops!)
Lauren was so excited to find an Easter basket waiting for her when she woke up!
Oma and Opa gave her these cool sunglasses in the Easter basket from them.
And more Play-Doh, but this Play-Doh is way cooler than our Easter basket- it came in eggs!
Lauren helped Oma make Dutch Babies (yummy!) for breakfast. She got a little carried away with the stirring of the eggs though and it ended up all in her hair!
Testing out the new Play- Doh with her BFF Opa!

(Another out of order)
Excited about her cute Easter Basket!

Big News!

Lauren actually went "pee pee" in her potty today!
This picture isn't from today, but we got a good laugh out of it so I thought I'd post it- she actually went and got the magazine all by herself.

Babucks

Lauren enjoys Starbucks quite a lot these days- we'll be driving down the street and she'll randomly say, "I want Babucks". A little scary actually, but cute too:)

Miss Hadley is ONE!!!

Seems like just yesterday we were all waiting to find out if she was a boy or a girl and now she is ONE! What a great year it has been and how fast it has gone. Megan and Ryan had a great party and we all enjoyed celebrating Hadley's first year!
Hads just sort of watched as all the other kids played with her gifts. She's so good at sharing- maybe she can teach her cousin some lessons!
Enjoying her very own cake!
Lauren slept through most of the party but woke up in time to enjoy a cupcake with Nana.
Lauren had to go test out the bubbles she got in her treat bag from Auntie Meg. She is also wearing some beautiful face jewels that Megan gave her. And yes, she is wearing Hadley's coat- she insists on wearing anything she can get her hands on that belongs to Hadley!
Thanks for a great year Miss Hads, love you to pieces and feel so lucky to get to see you so much! Even though Lauren doesn't always show it- she loves you lots too!

Jump Planet!

Lauren LOVES jump planet and asks to go there all the time. She and Haley had a great time jumping there last week.
She gets so excited and is Miss Independent when she's there... just runs away from me and climbs on everything and goes down slides. The kid has no fear when it comes to this kind of thing!
Not sure what this face is about, I think she might have been jumping...

Dress Up... again!

Yet again another Lauren original! It's funny because I wore this poncho a few years ago and I almost gave it to the Goodwill but thought that it could be a fun dress up item for Lauren when she is older. Well she found it the other day and it was a huge hit!
Lauren decided the apron needed an accessory so she put one of her wall hangings on her head:) They obviously haven't been hung up yet... still working on actually decorating the house!

We thought we should include Hadley in the dress up fun so we put an apron on her too:)

Fashion Sense?

This first ensamble is a combination of old pants that are much to small, a 12 month summer dress, and a very old hand me down 4T duck shirt. She's going for the homeless look:) This particular outfit was worn to bed and again the next day, that is how lovely it was!
Here Lauren is going for the "skimpy" look in some nice oversized pajama shorts.
The hottest look for spring is to pair the "skimpy" pajama shorts with running shoes... and going topless, well that is just always in style:)

Octopus Mall

Lauren loves playing at Alderwood Mall and today she kept calling it "Octopus Mall". Hadley had fun trying to pick up boys:) This boy kept getting right in my face everytime I had the camera and saying "cheese". It was sort of funny, sort of annoying...
Lauren was too busy going down the slide to worry about the boys!
And this was what they looked like while we walked around, if the picture had sound you would also hear a lot of squealing and screaming... they were sort of Oscar the Grouch 1 & 2 today. Oh well, still love them to pieces!

Sleepy Head!

Lauren did not want to take a nap today. Since she can now get out of her bed it is a little harder to force her to nap. The first time I went in there I found her in her toy chest. The second time I went in there I found her like this. She is now in her bed sleeping peacefully but I thought she looked pretty sweet in her chair like this so I had to take a pic:)

This is why

I keep getting asked why I haven't put any pictures of the new house on the blog. Well this is why... it is a MESS still! I figured I'd post some pics anyway so that way when you see it completed it will look extra fabulous:) This is the new hutch we got today, it's airing out because it smells like wood oil.
This is the loft- so organized.
Our master bath
The kitchen which I finally finished unpacking tonight... but haven't cleaned or organized yet.
The entry way
The dining room
Living room that only has a tv at this point. Couch comes tomorrow!

More pics to follow one of these days:)
